2. Obtaining actual dynamic values such as modal frequency, shape and damping ratio with the following motivations

• Tracking changes in dynamic values during earthquakes for condition assessment purposes
• FEM updating for more reliable performance assessment

Two different categories of monitoring strategies exist:

·         SHM with permanent systems

·         Modal ID with temporary systems
